About Kolora
Kolora is a small rural locality in south-west Victoria, located within the Corangamite Shire Council area approximately 11 kilometres south of Terang and 27 kilometres north-east of Camperdown. Situated in the Otways hinterland region, the locality encompasses around 116 square kilometres of predominantly dairy farming land, with a population of around 188 residents. The area forms part of the productive agricultural belt between the Great Ocean Road coast and the Western District plains, an area long associated with Victoria's dairy and beef industries.
The surrounding landscape is characterised by green, rolling paddocks, scattered remnant bush, and views of the extinct volcanic peak of Mount Noorat to the north-east. Kolora is closely linked to the small rural communities of Noorat and Terang for basic services, with Camperdown and Warrnambool (approximately 52 kilometres west) providing a broader range of shops, schools, and healthcare. The locality suits farming families and rural lifestyle seekers who appreciate the quiet, unhurried pace of south-west Victoria's agricultural heartland.
Kolora falls under postcode 3265 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the South-West Coast (Western Victoria) electorate.
