Mount Camel is a rural locality in Campaspe Shire in central Victoria, situated approximately 17 kilometres north of Heathcote along the Heathcote–Rochester Road. Covering some 63.5 square kilometres, the locality had a population of 136 at the 2021 Census and sits within the celebrated Heathcote wine region. The Mount Camel Range gives the area its distinctive elevated topography — a north–south Cambrian greenstone ridge that has long been prized by winemakers for its unique soils.
