Mundubbera is a rural town in Queensland's North Burnett Region, situated approximately 360 kilometres northwest of Brisbane and 184 kilometres west-southwest of Bundaberg. At the 2021 census it had a population of 1,120 people, spread across 35.7 square kilometres along the Burnett River. The town serves as the commercial hub for a wide surrounding agricultural district in the North Burnett hinterland.
Mundubbera is renowned as the Citrus Capital of Queensland, with extensive orange and mandarin orchards dominating the local economy and landscape. The town centre on Lyons Street offers essential services including a supermarket, medical centre, hotel, and local schools, while the surrounding farms attract seasonal workers each harvest. Families and retirees make up much of the permanent population, drawn by the quiet rural pace, affordable housing, and strong community spirit.
