About New Harbourline
New Harbourline is a rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region of Queensland, situated approximately 13 kilometres south of Innisfail and 100 kilometres south of Cairns in Far North Queensland. The locality covers around 15 square kilometres and had a population of 218 residents at the 2021 Census. It lies within a productive agricultural area of the wet tropics, close to Mourilyan Harbour — one of Queensland's key bulk sugar export ports.
The surrounding area is characterised by sugarcane farms and tropical agricultural land typical of the Cassowary Coast hinterland. New Harbourline Road is the main thoroughfare through the locality, connecting residents to Innisfail for shops, schools, and services. Like many small rural localities along the Cassowary Coast, daily life here centres on farming and the close community of the broader Innisfail district, with the Bruce Highway providing access to Cairns to the north and Townsville to the south.
New Harbourline falls under postcode 4858 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Hill electorate.
