Pewsey Vale is a historic rural locality in the Eden Valley region of South Australia, situated in the eastern highlands of the Barossa Council area at an elevation of approximately 500 metres above sea level. The locality covers around 62 square kilometres of elevated wine country, positioned roughly 70 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD and 15 kilometres east of Angaston in the southern Barossa Valley. With a 2021 Census population of 84 residents, Pewsey Vale is sparsely settled and predominantly given over to viticulture, sheep grazing, and mixed farming. The cooler high-altitude climate — 250 metres above the Barossa Valley floor — distinguishes the locality and makes it ideal for premium cool-climate viticulture.

Pewsey Vale holds a revered place in Australian wine history as the site of the first vineyard established in the Eden Valley, planted in 1847 by English settler Joseph Gilbert, who named the property after the Vale of Pewsey in Wiltshire, England. The Pewsey Vale Vineyard, now managed by the Yalumba wine company, produces the Eden Valley's benchmark Riesling wines and is regarded as one of Australia's great vineyard estates. The surrounding Eden Valley landscape is characterised by rolling hills, native bushland, historic stone buildings, and cool-climate vineyards producing outstanding Riesling and Shiraz.
