Telowie is a remote rural locality in the Southern Flinders Ranges of South Australia, situated approximately 213 kilometres north of Adelaide and about 25 kilometres north-east of Port Pirie. Covering nearly 100 square kilometres, the locality falls within the District Council of Mount Remarkable and recorded a population of 89 residents in the 2021 Census. The landscape is defined by dramatic gorge country where Telowie Creek has carved through the ranges, creating diverse habitats that span both temperate and arid ecological zones.
Telowie is closely associated with the former Telowie Gorge Conservation Park, now incorporated into the Wapma Thura–Southern Flinders Ranges National Park, which offers bushwalking and wildlife watching opportunities including a colony of yellow-footed rock-wallabies.
