Thowgla Valley is a remote alpine locality in north-east Victoria, situated within the Shire of Towong in the Hume region, approximately 314 kilometres from Melbourne and around 60 kilometres south-west of Albury-Wodonga. The locality covers a large and rugged area of approximately 127 square kilometres, encompassing the Thowgla Creek drainage valley in the foothills and ranges of the Victorian high country. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 70 residents, reflecting the area's character as a sparsely settled pastoral and bushland locality.
Thowgla Valley offers a genuine high-country lifestyle surrounded by the forested ranges and valleys of north-east Victoria, with Thowgla Road as the main access route through the area and the Thowgla Public Hall serving as a focal point for the small local community.
