About Thurgoona

Thurgoona has grown rapidly as Albury's newest suburb, about 10 kilometres northeast of the city centre on the NSW side of the border. This suburb of roughly 11,000 residents includes Charles Sturt University's campus, adding student population to the growing family demographic. New housing estates continue to expand into surrounding farmland.

Young families dominate, attracted by affordable new homes and good facilities. The university brings energy and diversity, while the surrounding semi-rural landscape offers space uncommon in coastal cities. The community is still establishing its identity as development continues, but early residents appreciate the combination of country space and city access. It's Albury's answer to population growth.

Thurgoona falls under postcode 2640 and is governed by Albury Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Albury electorate.
