Tonderburine is a vast, sparsely populated rural locality in the Orana region of New South Wales, situated approximately 510 kilometres north-west of Sydney in the Central West plains. The locality covers over 451 square kilometres of predominantly flat, semi-arid pastoral land typical of the region, falling within the Warren Shire area near the town of Trangie. With a population of just 112 residents recorded in the 2021 Census, Tonderburine is one of NSW's most remote inhabited localities, characterised by large sheep and cattle properties stretching across the open plains.

Life in Tonderburine revolves around agriculture and the pastoral industry, with residents relying on nearby towns — most notably Trangie and Narromine to the east, and Warren to the west — for essential services, schooling, and supplies.
