Trundle is a small rural town in the Central West of New South Wales, situated within Parkes Shire approximately 420 kilometres west of Sydney and 61 kilometres north-west of Parkes. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 568 for the locality, set amid flat, open wheat-growing country on the Western Plains. The town reflects the character of inland agricultural Australia, with a modest main street, strong community spirit, and a landscape dominated by golden grain paddocks stretching to the horizon.

The town's economy has historically been driven by grain farming, particularly wheat and canola, with Trundle serving as a local service centre for surrounding rural properties. The freight-only Bogan Gate–Tottenham railway line passes through the town, a remnant of the era when rail was central to agricultural export. Trundle offers essential services for residents and is renowned locally for its Country Music Festival, which draws visitors from across the region each year and celebrates the town's rural heritage.
