Upper Flagstone is a small rural locality in the Lockyer Valley Region of south-east Queensland, situated approximately 15 kilometres south-east of Toowoomba CBD and 32 kilometres west of Gatton, lying just east of the Great Dividing Range. The locality covers nearly 30 square kilometres and had a population of 191 at the 2021 Census. Upper Flagstone falls within the Lockyer Valley Regional Council area, a region known for its intensive vegetable farming and position as one of Australia's most productive horticultural zones.
The area sits at the transition between the elevated Darling Downs and the Lockyer Valley floor, offering a rural landscape shaped by mixed farming, grazing, and some horticultural activity. Residents have ready access to Toowoomba's extensive services — Queensland's largest inland city — just 15 kilometres to the north-west, including major shopping, hospitals, schools, and the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing (Inland Rail corridor).
