Verran is a rural locality on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, situated approximately 241 km west of Adelaide within the District Council of Cleve local government area. The locality encompasses a large pastoral area of 582 sq km on the open farming lands of the Eyre Western region and recorded 88 residents at the 2021 census, predominantly farming families. Originally established as a town in 1914 with its own railway station, the town was officially abolished in 1970 though the locality name was retained; the area was re-gazetted as a locality in 1998. Annual rainfall averages around 357 mm, typical of the mixed farming country of the central Eyre Peninsula.
