About Vine Vale
Vine Vale is a small rural locality in the heart of the Barossa Valley wine region, South Australia, approximately 2 kilometres south-east of Tanunda and around 70 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Covering just over 5 square kilometres, the locality has a population of approximately 90 people, with residents predominantly connected to viticulture, winemaking, and the broader agricultural sector. Vine Vale forms one of the sixteen recognised districts within the Barossa Valley wine region and is administered as part of the Barossa Council local government area.
The locality is home to several acclaimed wineries and cellar doors, including Hart of the Barossa on Light Pass Road — home to the oldest certified organic vineyard in the Barossa, planted in 1902 — as well as Calabria Family Wines and Seabrook Wines. Light Pass Road and Magnolia Road wind through vineyards and orchards that define the Vine Vale district's pastoral character. Vine Vale's proximity to Tanunda gives residents easy access to the Barossa's acclaimed restaurants, boutique shops, bakeries, and community events, making it an attractive address for those deeply embedded in the valley's wine and food culture.
Vine Vale falls under postcode 5352 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Schubert electorate.
