Yabbra is a remote rural locality in the Kyogle Council area of northern New South Wales, situated near the Queensland border. Covering a vast 145 square kilometres of forested land, the area is sparsely populated and largely defined by its proximity to the Yabbra National Park. The locality is characterised by dense subtropical rainforest, rugged terrain, and a very small resident population.
The main attraction of the Yabbra area is its extraordinary biodiversity and wilderness, with Yabbra National Park offering bushwalking, wildlife spotting, and opportunities to experience untouched rainforest. Residents and visitors are drawn by the genuine off-the-grid lifestyle, with farming and grazing as the primary land uses. Nearby Urbenville and Woodenbong provide basic services, while Kyogle (about 60 km south) offers a larger range of amenities.
