Binjari is a small Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory, located approximately 13 kilometres south-west of Katherine along the Victoria Highway. It falls within the Katherine Town Council local government area and recorded a population of 240 in the 2021 census, up from 190 in 2016. The community covers a compact area of around 2.8 square kilometres in the tropical savanna landscape characteristic of the Top End region.
Binjari is a close-knit Indigenous community, with residents accessing schools, healthcare, and most services in Katherine, the nearest regional centre. The community has a high proportion of social housing relative to its population, reflecting its status as a government-supported remote locality.
