About Lansdowne
Lansdowne is a residential suburb of Katherine in the Northern Territory, situated approximately 5 kilometres from the Katherine town centre. Named in honour of Katherine pioneers Anne Pascoe Lansdowne (1909–1973) and her husband Frank, co-owners of the Kumbidgee Station brahman stud, the suburb was officially gazetted in April 2007. With a population of around 499 residents, Lansdowne offers affordable housing in one of the NT's key inland regional towns, serving as a service hub for the surrounding pastoral and mining regions.
