About Chiltern

Chiltern is a historic gold rush town in northeast Victoria, situated in the Shire of Indigo between Wangaratta and Wodonga, approximately 281 kilometres from Melbourne. With a population of 1,580 at the 2021 census, the town sits at 209 metres elevation surrounded by the Chiltern-Mount Pilot National Park, which covers nearly 67% of the local area.
