About Kentdale
Kentdale is a rural locality in the Shire of Denmark in Western Australia's Great Southern region, situated midway between the towns of Walpole (30 kilometres to the west) and Denmark (27 kilometres to the east), approximately 350 kilometres south-east of Perth. Covering around 65 square kilometres, the locality is home to just 118 residents and is characterised by a quiet, semi-rural lifestyle typical of the south coast hinterland. The Kent River and South Coast Highway form much of Kentdale's southern boundary, lending the area a natural sense of definition.
The Owingup Nature Reserve borders Kentdale to the south, offering opportunities to encounter the region's renowned karri and tingle forests and local wildlife. Denmark township provides the nearest shopping, medical services, and schooling, while the coastal town of Walpole offers access to the Walpole-Nornalup National Park and the famous Valley of the Giants treetop walk. Kentdale appeals to those drawn to south-west WA's distinctive rural landscape, where farming properties and nature reserves share the scenery in one of Australia's most scenic coastal regions.
Kentdale falls under postcode 6333 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Warren-Blackwood (South West) electorate.
