About West Prairie
West Prairie is a small rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of south-east Queensland, situated on the fertile Darling Downs approximately 45 kilometres north-west of Toowoomba. With a population of 78 at the 2021 Census and covering 143 square kilometres, it is a quiet agricultural area of broadacre farms and pastoral properties. Residents travel to nearby towns such as Quinalow or Jondaryan for basic services, while Toowoomba provides the nearest major shopping, healthcare, and education facilities. West Prairie appeals to farming families and those who value rural privacy and productive agricultural land on the Darling Downs.
