About Boomerang Beach
Boomerang Beach is a small coastal locality on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, situated within the Pacific Palms township approximately 282 kilometres north of Sydney and near Forster-Tuncurry. With a permanent population of around 296, it is a largely holiday-oriented community where owner-occupiers and holiday-home owners share a spectacular stretch of coastline. The 1.45-kilometre beach is backed by dune vegetation and flanked by the protected bushland of Booti Booti National Park.
Boomerang Beach was named Australia's second-best beach in 2023 and is home to the annual World Surf League Great Lakes Pro event, cementing its reputation as one of the nation's premier surf destinations. Recreational activities include surfing, swimming, fishing, and snorkelling, while the Booti Booti National Park offers bushwalking and wildlife spotting. The nearby village of Pacific Palms provides a small shopping precinct, the Blueys Beach store, and local cafés, with Forster (20 km north) providing full services including supermarkets and a hospital.
