Cooroo Lands is a small rural locality in Far North Queensland, situated within the Cassowary Coast Regional Council area near the town of Innisfail, approximately 90 kilometres south of Cairns. The locality covers around 5.6 square kilometres of tropical hinterland, characterised by lush vegetation, sugarcane plantations, and the dense rainforest landscapes typical of the Wet Tropics region. With a population of just 12 residents recorded in the 2021 Census, Cooroo Lands is one of the smallest localities in Queensland.
Life in Cooroo Lands is deeply rural, with the local economy historically tied to sugarcane farming and tropical agriculture that defines the Innisfail district.
