About Paulls Valley
Paulls Valley is a small, secluded bush locality in the Perth Hills, nestled in the Darling Range within the City of Kalamunda approximately 35 kilometres east of the Perth CBD. With a 2021 Census population of just 83 residents across 26 dwellings spread over 20 square kilometres, it is one of Perth's most sparsely settled metropolitan localities. Named after pioneer orchardist Albert Paull who settled in 1914, the area retains its bushland character with dense jarrah forest and the Helena River valley defining the landscape.
Residents enjoy an extraordinary natural setting surrounded by Beelu National Park, with direct access to The Dell picnic area — a popular hub for hikers and mountain bikers on the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail. The heritage-listed Mundaring Weir, one of Australia's great engineering achievements, lies practically on the doorstep. Kalamunda town centre, about 8 kilometres away, provides the nearest shops, schools, and services, while the broader Perth Hills region offers boutique wineries, cideries, orchards, and scenic lookouts.
Paulls Valley falls under postcode 6076 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Swan Hills (East Metropolitan) electorate.
